Chalalan Ecolodge
San Jose de Uchupiamonas, an indigenous village lying within Bolivia's Madidi National Park envisioned a rain forest lodge as a way to protect their land and create jobs that would keep the forest standing. Chalalan--a premier community ecolodge for exploring Bolivia's Amazon region. Visitors to the Chalalan Ecolodge stay in comfortable thatched-roof cabins overlooking a beautiful lake, surrounded by a vast expanse of jungle. Local guides lead guests through pristine forests where they can spot troops of monkeys, herds of wild peccary, nesting macaws, and tapirs. Madidi National Park's mountains, forest and river habitat is home to more than 1,000 species of birds, 44% of all new world species of mammal, and an estimated 38% of neotropical amphibians. The Tropical Andes, where Madidi is located is also a globally critical hotspot of plant endemism.
Noel Kempff Mercado National Park Lodges
The main attraction of Noel Kempff is the Caparce Plateau, a Precambrian sandstone mesa that rises abruptly from the rainforests approximately 1,800 feet to an elevated plain of grasslands and cerrado woodlands. Noel Kempff Mercado National Park is a biological reserve located in the extreme northeastern corner of Bolivia in the Department of Santa Cruz, sharing an international border on the north and east with Brazil. The park is situated in an ecological transition zone. Over 130 mammal species and over 630 bird species have been identified in NKMNP. This translates into one fourth of all existing bird species in the Neotropics!

Kolibri Expeditons
Kolibri Expeditons based in Lima, Peru has low budget birding trips to all corners of South America. All trips are off the beaten track to search for endemics and specialties of the particular area. There is usually a bias on quality of unique birds rather than overall numbers. The trips are hard-core. You need to be fairly fit as there may be walks for some exclusive endemics involved. You need also be prepared for less comfortable lodging in rural areas and in some cases camping. However, most of the time in these areas instead of putting up tents, they will use roadside restaurants which let us put our mattresses on the floor.
Manu Expeditions
Manu Expeditions and its sister company Expediciones Manu are the longest established operators in the Manu Biosphere Reserve and have been outfitting rainforest and mountain expeditions and tours since 1983. The company is owned and run by husband and wife team Barry Walker (who doubles as British Consul in Cusco) and Rosario Velarde (20 years experience in managing adventure tour companies) and the center of operations is in the ancient Inca capital of Cusco. Their leaders are fluent in at least English and Spanish. Bird-watching trips are led by very experienced neo-tropical ornithologists.
Neblina Forest
An Ecuadorian company to promote the country's avafauna has opened an office in Bolivia and is scheduling 4-5 birding tours for that country and is also beginning tours in Peru.
Victor Emanuel Nature Tours (VENT)
Founded in 1974, it is now the largest company in the world specializing in birding tours.
