Vaseux Lake is a designated Bird Sanctuary and is in the Vaseux Bighorn Sheep National Wildlife Area. The south Okanagan and lower Similkameen valleys have long been known among Canadian nature-lovers as one of the "must-see" places. Thousands of bird watchers visit our valley every year to see birds they simply can't see anywhere else in Canada. The valley has a Meadowlark Festival in May.
Whiffin Spit Lodge
On the spectacular South West Coast of Vancouver Island. Bird watchers are drawn to Whiffen Spit Beach where they find an excellent vantage point for observing seabirds, shorebirds, marine mammals & intertidal life. East Sooke Park offers one of the best sites in the Pacific Northwest to observe the fall Raptor migration (starting mid-September).
